First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of 3rd Grade for the boys.  (of course, I forgot to take a picture at home, so had to use the Iphone at School. Summer just flew by.  Both boys had an "awesome" first day!

Not a good summer to be a cat in at our house...

Less than three weeks after saying goodbye to dear Max, Charlie has gone missing.  He's been gone for over a week so I don't think there is much hope for his return.   He was quite the hunter so I think the circle of life may have come around to get him.   I miss him more than I thought I would and Lola seems a bit lost without her brother.  It is quieter in the house going from 3 to 1 cats.

Max (Emperor Maximilian)  April, 1995 - June 23, 2011

Our dear, sweet Maxi had to be put to sleep today.  Two months ago he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on is face.  It had become large enough to make him uncomfortable. He has been a huge presence in our lives for the last 16 years.  We love him and will miss him.

The boys dressed and black and had a little service for him.

They were genuinely sad.  Especially Aidan.  He had quite the crying jag after this.
